Char Dham Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage tour located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Char Dham Yatra starts from Yamunotri, which is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, and is located at an elevation of 3,293 meters above sea level. The next stop is Gangotri, which is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and is located at an elevation of 3,048 meters above sea level. Kedarnath, located at an elevation of 3,584 meters, is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and it is believed that a visit to this shrine helps to attain salvation. The final stop is Badrinath, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located at an elevation of 3,133 meters.
The Char Dham Yatra usually begins in late April or early May and continues till October or November, depending on the weather conditions. The journey involves trekking through the rugged terrain of the Himalayas, crossing glaciers, and negotiating steep and narrow pathways. Despite the challenging terrain, thousands of devotees undertake this yatra every year to seek blessings and offer prayers at these holy shrines.
